Our team cohesion now is simply amazing. We’ve all got this understanding that we’re in this together and above everything, I detect a different sense of pride among my athletes. As a new coach, I’m very proud of that. The players have the charts they made in the Whole-In-One workshop hanging all over their dorm rooms, and it’s gone further than the bookwork in the workshop. They see them every day, and that says it all right there. We’ve got athletes that are on different ends of the personality spectrum, and as a coach, knowing how to deal with both ends of that spectrum is a terrific advantage. . . I stepped into the unknown with the workshop, and it certainly exceeded any expectations I had going in. Worthwhile investment? Hands down, one of the best identification exercises I’ve ever experienced. My team is better as a unit, and I think we’re all better people as a result of the exercise.

Mitch Laurance and Joan Shafer presented their Whole-In-One positivity program to my fourth semester classes on May 3, 2012. The two-hour presentation was extremely motivating, and the responses from the students were unanimously upbeat and affirmative. The session generated follow-on discussions and interactions among the students about ways to use the information and suggested techniques to improve both their golf games and their approaches to life situations. This program can benefit individuals and teams alike, and I look forward to having Mitch and Joan back in a few months to address my next class of students.

The Whole-In-One program was a huge team building and learning experience for our group. Our goal was to learn to communicate with each other better, gain mutual respect, find our core motivations, and learn how to set productive goals. Through the program our team gained insight into themselves and their challenges, which has helped the unit move forward more productively. As a coach I have been better able to help my players on the golf course and manage team issues more effectively with the knowledge that I gained through our weekend with Mitch and Joan.

I've known Mitch for 25 years, and have always been impressed with his passion for, and knowledge of, college sports. I've participated in numerous events with him over the years, and it was obvious from the results of these projects that he understands the value of great teamwork, a worthwhile goal, and a positive attitude. Mitch definitely 'plays to his strengths'!

Joan's special gift is to be able to see the potential for greatness in others. Over the years I have witnessed the transformation that happens when people respond to her positive vision. Joan walks the talk - she embodies the value of increasing self awareness and is always looking for ways to improve her own contribution as a leader and facilitator. People pick up on this authentic approach and start to see the possibility of releasing their own potential.

Joan's straight talking and out of the box thinking means she is able to deliver results I could not imagine. I worked with Joan twice, and both times was blown away with how she analyzed data to articulate where to focus attention to ensure the highest productivity of the workforce. Joan engages her audience and keeps it real. I am a huge fan and look forward to working with Joan again on projects in the future.
